This course is for you if:

- You want to learn ax skills from someone who is not a cis/het dude-bro.
- You want insight into the cultural and spiritual history of the ax as a human tool.
- You want to be in thoughtful relationship with the trees whose wood you are shaping and using.

- Anyone can join this class, and it is especially designed for marginalized genders (women, trans people, and non-binary folks).
- No experience necessary, we explain all the basics.

- Murphy will teach you the correct form from the beginning, so your ax swing will be safe, accurate, and ergonomic.

How much is it?
The ax skills online course is $75. You get access for as long as we offer the course. BIPOC reparations scholarships are available (see registration page).

Murphy Robinson
They/Them
Murphy Robinson is the founder of Mountainsong Expeditions and has been working in outdoor leadership since 2005.
Murphy is a queer transmasculine wilderness guide who has been teaching ax skills since 2013. They learned their ax skills in the California Conservation Corps and from various woodsy friends.
They heat their home entirely with hand-split firewood.
